Can an Ele/Mo do Aurora Glade with Henchies?
I'm being beaten every time, and trying different methods and failing. Sure I could group up, but now it's becoming a challenge.
I'm an Ele/Mo, level 20 at Aurora Glade with all the Spells and Skills attainable by then. It's the mission with 3 portals that you need to slap a crystal in to turn them blue, while the enemy (lots of 'em) turn them red. I've tried using Water mist speeds and stuff to outpace them without success. I've tried taking on their forces but they overwhelm me. One major problem is when I see one of them carrying a crystal I can rarely stop them before they reach the portal. And if I go running off to get a crystal they hit me in the back just making staying alive difficult! So any grand schemes? Any clever builds you can come up with (remembering I don't have every spell)? Or is it impossible to do with henchies and an Elemonkalist. |

It's not impossible at all. Beef up your monkiness some so you can throw a shielding hands, orison, breeze, or heal party. Since you have energy storage this shouldn't be a problem.
If you are having problems, don't request the bonus with the mission and this will make your life easier. I'm not sure, but I believe there is a lot less White Mantle spawn without the bonus activated that with it activated. You can always come back and do the bonus later. So here's my basic strategy: As you face the portals there are 2 on your right and one on your left. The first on your right is the closest, the one on your left is second closest and the last on your right is farthest away. Always keep one portal tuned to blue and you will be fine. Don't worry about stopping the other team, that's for the bonus. Just focus on tuning your portals. 1. Tune the closest right hand portal first. At this point the farthest right hand portal should be red and they should be running to tune the neutral (white) left hand portal. 2. Run back get a crystal and go to tune the left hand portal. 3. Run back get a crystal and head to the far right hand portal. At this point you will probably probably pass them as they are running to tune the closest right hand portal. Don't stop just pull the henchies with you and cast prot, breeze on Thom or Stefan as they are usually the ones who stay back and fight. If you can, wait until you tune the portal first. If you have a slow spell and can cast it on their crystal carrier you could try it and see how it works. A couple times I've gotten lucky and got them all tuned at this point. Boom you will be transported to the next step. 4. At this point the far right hand portal and the left hand portal should be blue. Get a crystal and head for your closest right hand portal and tune it. If things are working good you should win at this point and move on to killing the henge guardian. 5. If it doesn't work keep the alternating up and work on timing it so you can do a short run and retune your closest portal. 6. Don't worry if a few of the henchies die, they will be resurected when you go to kill the guardian. Just don't let so many die that the White Mantle overwhelm you. If you really have a hard time you can PM me ingame. |

Thanks. Did it last night. Seems the secret is do the nearest Crystal first as the White Mantle spend more time to reach that. Plus having 18 seconds Mist Armour helps.

If you wanted to do it over with the bonus, use your water magic to slow the crystal runners. Henches are great at focusing fire, so they'll take 'em down right quick.

Yes, slowing the runner is vital. They're very singleminded, and will not aggro at all.

if iat all possible you may want a well balanced team.... or a team with a monk nuker life drainer etc.... then its easier to kill the enemy for mission and bonus.... thats how i did it last time i completed the mission.... course i was picky and demanded one person from each class so..... ya

I did it with my W/Mo and only Alesia, easily, on my first try. Think I went short, far, medium, then short again.

Heh...the bonus can be a toughy. I can solo the mission part on my warrior, but as for the bonus, I need a monk, minionmancer, and a mesmer that slows people down.
